80beats sent me this instrumental 5+ years ago. It was passed around to a few different artists, but nothing ever stuck. I tried different melodies and song ideas over the years, but everything felt forced. It wasn't until working on Temporary High that this type of vibe made sense for me.

What I always loved about the instrumental was the tempo and mood. My intention was to use this as an interlude somewhere in the middle of the album. After I let my mastering engineer Es-K sequence the album, I immediately realized it made so much sense as an intro.

I called my long-time friend Amanda in Stockholm and asked her to explain her philosophy of love over the beat. She was there for me during the ups and downs of the tumultuous relationship that inspired this album. Her words ended up being like a thesis statement for the project.
